NBA Playoffs: Bulls and Heat Game 2 Recap

The Bulls came out flat on offense, while the big three in Miami scored at an efficient rate all night long. Both defenses were tenacious, but the difference in the game came down to the ability to knock shots down late by the Heat and Lebron James. Miami was able to close the game out on a 11 to 2 run that sealed the win and gave the Heat home-court advantage from here on out, a dangerous position to be in for the Chicago Bulls who NEED home court.

Derrick Rose just wasn’t himself all night, consistently putting up forced shots and pushing the ball into double, or even triple teams at times. Yet, he isn’t solely to blame for the game two loss, Kyle Korver and company just couldn’t hit when they needed it most. The Bulls had an ample amount of opportunities to take the lead when it was 73-73 late in the fourth, but missed shots and turnovers plagued Chicago.

Now the series shifts to Miami, giving the Heat a huge advantage. If the Bulls hope to take a game or two down in south beach, they have to come out firing from long-distance and slow down the tempo of the game. Once the Bulls start trying to out run Jame and Wade, that is when they get in trouble. In order to win this series the Bulls must force the Heat it play in the half court and limit the amount of times they turn the ball over.

I said the Bulls would surprise people and win the series in five games, and while I still think they will go to the Finals, I am now going to push it to six games.
