Even in the absence of Mendenhall and Harrison, the Steelers can still ‘Steel Curtain’ Chris Johnson and the Titans. This is the week Matt Hasselbeck starts to show his age. |
Steelers |
Tennessee vs. Pittsburgh |
Titans |
Have to go with the hot hand. Hasselbeck has found a new home and has done nothing but fit in. The Steelers’ O-Line has caused all sorts of problems, and with Big Ben wearing a boot in practice; all the odds are in favor of Tennessee. |
Andy Dalton looks like he was the second best rookie coming out of this past draft, this week he should solidify that in the matchup with Gabbert. |
Bengals |
Cincinnati vs. Jacksonville |
Jags |
I’ll take the home team here. Not a very interesting game except to see another start for rookie Blaine Gabbert. |
I will agree with my counterpart- Newton is putting up great individual stats, but they aren’t helping his team win. Until the move him under center and get the ground game going, Panthers will keep losing. |
Saints |
New Orleans vs. Carolina |
Saints |
I love Cam Newton… in Fantasy Football. He puts up the stats but doesn’t have much to show for it. Not a tough pick. |
Matt Schaub is going to be without Andre the Giant and will look to Arian Foster to pick up the slack. I see a Raider upset on the horizon with McFadden having a big game. |
Raiders |
Oakland vs. Houston |
Texans |
With or without Andre, Houston’s offense takes care of business against McFadden and the gang. |
I have confidence in this Bills team to get it done this week. Fitzpatrick needs to continue spreading the ball around and involve Fred Jackson. |
Bills |
Philadelphia vs. Buffalo |
Eagles |
Thank you Cincy for silencing all of the talks about the Bills. I can’t believe people are actually taking Buffalo here. It took the Red Sox a couple weeks to get going. The city of Brotherly Love will be forgettin’ about the last 3 weeks after this week. |
McNabb vs. Kolb- I say McNabb gets the best this time because if he doesn’t… time to PONDER a change at quarterback…? |
Vikings |
Arizona vs. Minnesota |
Cardinals |
If games were only one half, the Vikings would be doing pretty well, but the problem is that they cannot finish games. Start the countdown for when Christian Ponder gets his first action. |
Two very bad teams, but I just can’t believe the Chiefs are going to continue being as horrendous as they’ve been. Cassel steps up with a big game. |
Chiefs |
Kansas City vs. Indianapolis |
Colts |
First win of the year for the Colts. The Chiefs don’t have a whole lot of positive signs after the loss of Charles. |
I’ve already said I don’t think the Seahawks will win a game, even though the Jackson-Rice connection looks somewhat decent. |
Giants |
Seattle vs. New York (N) |
Giants |
Eli-haters beware! The New York Football Giants are back, and they’re taking the NFC EAST by storm! Ok, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. But while the criticism lingers around Philly and Dallas, the Giants could find themselves in a little comfort zone. |
The 49ers are a major surprise so far, but I just can’t see them winning more the 50% of their games with Smith at the helm, especially this week versus the Bucs. |
Bucs |
Tampa Bay vs. San Francisco |
Bucs |
Josh Freeman looks more and more like a franchise quarterback each week. The only thing that can stop them is Frank Gore, who had a huge week last Sunday. |
Denver isn’t a good team, and won’t be a good team until they improve up front on both lines. Mathews and the Chargers should bolt past them this week. |
Chargers |
San Diego vs. Denver |
Chargers |
Definitely did not think the Broncos would be playing this poorly. Maybe it’s time we see Tebow… |
Tom Brady and the Pats are just simply going to have to out-score the Jets, because let’s face it, New England isn’t going to stop anyone on D. |
Patriots |
Ney York (A) vs. New England |
Patriots |
Should be another great showdown between the growing rivalry. I like the Pats’ chances of rolling in Foxborough. |
Matt Ryan and the Falcons look to really take off this week, but it will need to be Michael Turner who gets that back to being an elite team. |
Falcons |
Green Bay vs. Atlanta |
Packers |
The Pack is very scary. It’s hard to pick against them. They look like they’re headed to the Promised Land again. |
Daaaa Bears at home versus the Lions used to be a gimme, but not anymore. Forte will need to be on his game going up against Suh. |
Bears |
Chicago vs. Detroit |
Lions |
Alright, maybe I’ll start thinking about joining the Lions’ bandwagon. What’s holding me against them is that they were getting smoked early on in each of the last two games. Must win for DA BEARS, but their comeback falls short in this one. |
