It seems that talks between the Saints and the best quarterback in their franchise history have reached an impasse. After a season that saw Brees SHATTER Dan Marino’s single season passing yards record, this should be the easiest decision New Orleans has ever had to make. So let’s look at some of the pros and cons of signing Drew Brees to the largest contract in NFL history for a quarterback:
Pros
- Broke Marino’s record last year
- Won New Orleans first and only championship
- Is the face of the entire city
- Has only missed one game since 2004
- Positive news is in demand for the Saints
Cons
- Has a major arm surgery on his record
- 33 years old
Honestly- if you can come up with any more cons, please leave them in the comment section below- but I can not seriously think of a good enough reason as to why the Saints have not signed their most significant player. It is shameful and Drew Brees ought to ask for even more money now that they have put him though this whole ordeal.
